Can't we all just get along?
Mood:  irritated
So, now that Miers has been nominated, conservatives are squabbling about it. No one ever seems to be happy...someone is either too liberal or too conservative!
Expect her to go through much scrutiny, simply because she may not be conservative enough for the majority's taste. Like Roberts, Miers should have a clear up or down vote.

We have a new Supreme Court nominee!!!
Mood:  bright
Sorry I haven't gotten with you guys...my computer died.
Harriet Miers has been nominated by President Bush to be the replacement for the swing vote of Sandra Day O'Connor. She will sit on the bench with the newly appointed Chief Justice, John Roberts.
Sounds interesting, espiecially since she's been given the green light by several Democrats.

Big News Day!!!
Mood:  a-ok
Supreme Court NomineeJohn Roberts was questioned yeterday on vital topics such as Roe vs. Wade, among others. After watching the coverage, I feel more confused about it all than I did before!

The French Quarter of New Orleans is due to open soon. It has been said that New Orleans may be drained by early October, which is much better than December.

Hurricane Ophelia is headed for North Carolina! The storm is said to be causing massive beach erosion.

Oh man...not again...a judge has decided it's unconstituional to recite the pledge of allegiance in school. I went to school and we always recited it.

What's Up With That?
There's a lot of things I can't believe. One of them is that they're are still people wanting to stay in New Orleans after all this mess! I understand some don't want to leave their pets, (I have pets too)and some don't want to leave their stuff (waterlogged as they might be), but what I can't get is that things are getting worse and people have been told not to even go near the water, while so many refuse to leave a horrendous situation! In my opinion, there is nothing more important than YOU. Things can be replaced. You can't.

Well...I guess maybe I spoke too soon...
Mood:  blue
Here I thought maybe New Orleans had missed the big one, little did everyone know that the big one just waited. It was pretty hard to see people getting trapped on rooftops and being evacuated out of the city to other places. It reminds me of Waterworld. I just hope and pray they'll be okay.

It couldv'e been worse...
Mood:  incredulous
Just before Hurricane Katrina made landfall early this morning, she turned and instead of striking New Orleans head on, she headed for Alabama and Missisippi. Although this is still a bad situaton, just remember, one entire city was essentialy saved.

Hurricane Kat's a-comin! Everybody outta the way!!!!
Mood:  not sure
Oh man, in my short life of well...I won't say my age...I've never seen a hurricane like this!!! Hurricane Katrina is due to hit New Orleans early this morning and being a low-level city, it is predicted up to thirty feet of water! I saw the exodus of people dashing from New Orleans and to anywhere they could and felt so bad for them, anyone would. I mean, imagine...losing your home...everything you've ever worked for in minutes. The last category five hurricane that hit the states was Hurricane Andrew thirteen years ago.

My Tribute
Mood:  down
Hello all!

It was sad to hear of Peter Jennings passing. As a writer, I've always admired and respected him. He was one of the journalists that truly inspired me to become a writer.

What's Up With That?
Mood:  incredulous
Here's my newest update to "What's Up With That?"

Some people get so upset about the silliest things. People are upset because the new version of "Dukes of Hazzard" is in bad taste and portrays the south in a bad light. From what I've seen, this is an updated version for audiences who haven't seen a classic like this.

Another point, many people are ticked about Harry Potter and that it may teach witchcraft to kids. Here's my point: Harry Potter is a book/movie. Really, when you think about it, it's not much different than the fairy tales you were read to as a child. If some people don't agree with it, they shouldn't buy it for their kids or let them go to the movie.
